10 years ago tonight, and might I add I was only 18.................

Matt asked me to marry him!! It's our 10 year engagement anniversary! I really can't believe it's been ten years. And I can't believe I was only 18!! Yes, we have told Matt plenty of times that he "robbed the cradle", but I guess he was young himself: 22 years old. But I was always one that said I was not getting married until I was 25, ya like that happened. I was married and had TWO KIDS by the time I was 25! Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have changed a thing!! I've LOVED being married to Matt for almost 10 years!!
I can remember us sitting on that stone seat in front of the Salt Lake Temple. It was night, a night after a fancy dinner and Kurt Bester's Christmas Concert. We were talking and holding hands, very romantic. I have to say I had NO IDEA what was to happen next. Then all of the sudden he got down on one knee and pulled out a ring. He asked me to marry him. I was the most surprized at that moment than in any other time in my life, even up to now! He does tease me that he had to say, "well?" because I didn't answer right away. I was just sooo shocked and thrilled! Of course I said yes and the rest is history! We got married 3 months later in the Bountiuful Temple!
Happy Anniversary Matt! I love you so much!

This is one of our engagement pictures. We look so young huh!? Time flies when your having fun.............

"Two Shiny Quarters"

So I need to write about this in my "Blog Journal" so I will remember what my boys did for me last night.
I was in very unhappy mood last night getting dinner ready. So when Ammon said, "you never give me quarters for helping you anymore," I kindof SNAPPED. I said(okay, kindof yelled), "well I NEVER get payed to do anything around hear.......I don't get payed to wash your clothes, wash the dishes, clean the floors, or cook you food!!!" I went on to remind him he has to help out with certain things just because he is a member of our family and he can't always get a quarter for every little thing he helps out with. Well that was the end of that, and he went away and pouted a little. Well then after awhile, I was sitting at the counter and up comes Ammon and Nathan. "Mom", Ammon said. I said, "What?" Then Ammon looks at Nathan and silently counts with his fingers to Nathan 1, 2, 3.....And then they both simultaneously hold out two shiny quarters from their piggy banks to give to me and said, "Thank you for making dinner for us mom!" Right then and there my heart leaped and I almost started crying. I gave them both big hugs. That really got me out of my MOOD and I could no longer be mad. It is amazing how quick to forgive children are and also quick to learn, understand(in their own way) and love. Thank you boys for making my day, I will never forget your little display of love. I love you!!

Our December Day Out

We took our kids to Build a Bear and can I say they LOVE their bear and dog they got to bring to life. Nathan named his bear..."bear bear" and Ammon named his dog "Ruffy." It was really fun!

It was such a nice day we even got to play in the fountains at Gateway!!

The lights on temple square are fun to see every year, it really gets us in the Christams Spirit.

We love the holidays!

Let It Begin!!....

I'm one to not confuse the Holidays. I love all the holidays and like to celebrate each one! But I don't like listening to Christmas music until AFTER Thanksgiving. I know some radio stations started playing non-stop Christmas music the first of November...but I won't listen because, well, I don't want spoil things prematurely. One of the great things about Christmas is the anticipation of it, and I don't want to ruin that! (No offense to those who listen early!) So in light of tomorrow being Dec. 1st and that we had a wonderful Thanksgiving, BRING IT ON! I LOVE Christmas! And dedicated to those great Who's down it Whoville:
WELCOME CHRISTMAS, BRING YOUR CHEER!

I flew! IFLY!!!

Matt and I went on a date on Saturday and guess what I got to do? FLY!! We went to the ifly indoor skydiving center in Ogden. I soared on a column of air inside a vertical wind tunnel, where the winds reached over 100 MHP and I was actually flying!! It was an amazing experience! Last year, Matt went skydiving for real, the kind where you jump out of an airplane and could die, leaving your wife and kids behind.(can you tell I was nervous watching him jump? I'm GLAD he lived!) So he didn't do the ifly because he's done the real thing! That was one of his dreams to skydive, he likes to live to the extreme sometimes, and he got that opportunity. So Matt got to watch me this time, and ifly is extreme enough for me right now!

Getting all suited up! Sweet suit huh?!

The pictures are kind of blurry because I was moving and because of the glass, but you get the idea! Here I go!!

That was awesome! Let's do it again!!

Okay so it DOES kind of make me want to do the real thing....uh, but maybe later...WAY later!

Giving Thanks on Thanksgiving

Yesterday Nathan brought home a Thanksgiving turkey craft with things he is thankful for written on the feathers. One of my favorites that he said was:
I’m thankful for my Dad....because “him does fun things with me.” What a cutie!!
He is also thankful for Mac and Cheese! (of course, his favorite food)

And in the spirit of things, I thought it would be fun if the rest of us said a few things we are thankful for:

Ammon: Family, The World, and Friends (his friends are like part of the family!)

Matt: Snow cones on hot summer days,
Hot chocolate on cold winter nights,
And my family to share them both with. (ohh how sweet, thanks hun!)

Me:
Heat and a house to stay warm in(I know, I know, it’s not even Winter yet, but I HATE to be cold!
To know the true Gospel,
And My beautiful Family!

Also, as a comment on this post, it would be fun if anyone wants to say what THEY are thankful for!! Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Birthday Ammon!

His new bike!

He wanted to go to Chuck E. Cheese so I let him choose a couple of friends to invite and we braved the Big Cheese. He had fun and went to bed with a big smile on his face!

We love you Ammon! You're getting so big! Happy Birthday!

I Love Halloween!

Okay right now it's mostly for the kids and we do our Halloween activities around them but I still have so much fun! Why you ask? Some people don't like Halloween. Maybe I do because of all those late nights when I would watch the TV versions of scary shows and I liked to get creeped out. Oh you know the shows, like the Twilight Zone, Friday the Thirteenth, Monsters(NOT the Munsters), Tales from the Crypt, and even Nightmare on Elm street (even though that one scared me the most and I only watched it with my parents). Where were my parents when I was alone watching the other shows?! Agian they were only the TV versions but I was only in 4th or 5th grade. I've asked my parents and they don't seem to remember "letting" me watch them. I also remember watching scary shows with my friends and we would get so scared. What were some of those shows?

ANYWAY here are some fun pictures of my kids having fun on Halloween.

My kids had so much fun dressing up in their costumes! We all had fun-and we didn't even watch any scary shows!

Okay one last comment on watching TV as a child (off Halloween subject): I was lucky to have a small TV in my room when I was probably in 6th or 7th grade that only picked up 2 channels. Of course it was cool after I got in bed for the night to watch a show, and the only show that was on at the time? THE LOVE BOAT! And yes, I did watch this show faithfully for awhile(weird I know). Just me, in a small room with a small TV watching the Love Boat. How Precious. And this ones for you Jacque: (to music) "The love boat! Wining and Dining is My Middle Name!" HA!HA!

It's all over!!

Last night was the final performance for the play "Little Shop of Horrors" that I was in this October. I had a blast! Thanks to the great cast who made it so much fun on and off the stage! I will never forget you! And now on to the pictures....

Oh I must say that my hair was much bigger for the performances, these pictures were taken on Saturday after my hair was flattened by the gigantic, two-headed monster ponchos we had to wear at the end of the play when we were part of the plant. I know some of you were concerned about that... because I know I was. :)

What's mean, green and eats humans?

The plant from Little Shop of Horrors!

And just in time for Halloween, Clearfield City is putting on the theater prodution of Little Shop this week, and I am playing the part of Audrey! 11 years ago (has it really been that long?!) in the month of October I played the part of Audrey in my High School's production and I've had fun doing it agian! I sure have been gone a lot as Matt has said, "I don't even know you anymore!" But he has let me take some time out for myself to "live a little." Thanks sweetie!

This picture is of the great cast of my High School's 1997 production of Little Shop of Horrors! I'm the one in the top left corner with the risky leopard print! Great times!

It's the End of Summer.....

A started first grade! He was so excited to go "all day" to school and to eat lunch there. He started school on the 21st of August at the new elementary in Mountain Green. His teacher's name is Miss Hansen.(whcih A and his friends still think is pronounced Miss Handsome). He loves having 3 recesses and LOVES school lunch.

L's 1st birthday was on the 24th of August. That year went by so fast and they grow so fast. There is no stopping it. I remember crying when she was 3 weeks old because she was already getting bigger and I didn't want her to. But here she is 1 year old, and I do have to say every stage is fun and it's great to see her little personality develop.(very sassy and girly, but she does keep up with her brothers and loves to wrestle with them!)

N's 4th birthday was on the 7th of September. He is 4! He had his first "friend party" the Saturday before. The theme was Buzz Lightyear. All his friends got to pretend they were Space Rangers and we played all sorts of space ranger games and had buzz lightyear planet cupcakes. The next day on his "real birthday" he was excited to be sung to in primary and he wanted a bumblebee transformer cake. Also, he learned to ride his bike without training wheels the night of his birthday. He was so proud. Now he's even more crazy on his bike...what did we do!?

A started soccer again. This is his third year. He seriously is an awsome player. I have always liked soccer, but I never played. He got his athletic talent from his father, that's for sure.

N also started preschool. We do a neighborhood preschool where the mom's take turns being the teacher. He loves it and it is good to get him doing something fun because his big brother and best friend is gone all day at school now.
