Secret 80's Addiction

Just a quick note: I hope all of my friends and family are doing well. Blogging is not something I am great at, as you can see I have not posted since January!

Okay, about that addiction. Some of you might have the same secret addiction. I was not a teen of the 80's. I was a child of the 80's. Which means this addiction is not nesessarily about the fashion or the music. My addiction is found in all the wonderful TOYS of the 80's. Oh come on, you know the one's I'm talking about. And these are the vintage versions, the moderen versions are not the same!: Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, My Little Pony. And some maybe not so recognizable: Rose Petal Place Dolls, Charmkins, Herself the Elf, Lady Lovely Locks, Cupcake Dolls, Keypers, Poochy, Hugabunch, Jem, etc.

Right now, my upmost devotion is in the very cute My Child Dolls. Remember those? They had fabric skin and came in different eye and hair colors. I still have my doll from when I was little. A little werid, maybe. But come on, I know some of you out there have the same addiction to toys you played with as a child. Its not like I have a room full of vintage toys or anything. Just mostly stuff I had as a child, and an occasional purchase off of ebay! Anyway, right now I have been buying and restoring these old my Child Dolls to resale off of ebay, I guess they are quite the collectable right now.

Let's Do it Again!

Our Disneyland 2009 trip is now complete! We had a blast!! All that time looking forward to it and it's now over. I guess we will now have to start planning our next visit, which we told the kids is not for three more years, when Liliann is 4. But I have a feeling it might be sooner than that! There were some night the boys would be so tired and sad on the way back to the hotel we thought they might wake up and not want to go back, but every morning they would say, "we're going to Disneyland again, right?!" It only rained one day, but it rained really hard. That was the day we got SOPPING WET from the rain so decided to ride Splash Mountian like five times in a row to see how wet we could REALLY get. We also rode California Screemin when it was raining and had to close our eyes because it dosen't feel good to be pelted in the eyes with pouring rain. We did go back to the hotel to change after we were completely drenched and went back that evening when the rain stopped. But all the other days were beautiful and just the right temperature, a great break from the Utah winter. Now, all my boys keep asking is, "when can we go to Disneyland again?" And really, I am thinking the same thing!

A Trip Down Disney Memory Lane

I am so excited to go to Disneyland in a week! I was reminiscing about my other trips to Disneyland the other day and thought it would be fun to blog a little about them! I have only been three times before. Why does it feel that even if you've only been a few times that Disneyland is like a place you really feel comfortable, almost like a second home? Has anyone else felt that way? Anyway, my trips start as follows:

My first trip to Disneyland was when I was five in 1985. I don't remember too much, but I do remember the tea cup ride, peter pan ride, small world ride and the cool Mickey Mouse pin I got. My sister and I got matching Minnie Mouse shirts.

My next trip was in 1995 the September of my Sophmore year. My Mom, Dad, dorky little brother(haha, I love you Tyler!)and I made up the family at the time. My Sister was married and older Brother was on a mission. I thought it might not be fun hanging out on a trip with my family at the time. But how can you not have fun in Disneyland? It turned out to be a great trip and I even had fun with Tyler!

These next pictures are of our Senior choir trip to California when we went to Disneyland in 1998. This was a great time of life to take a trip with friends and just be crazy! I do have to mention the weird Eyore hat that our choir teacher wore, and that some of my friends were madly in love with him (you know who you are:D).

On the Indiana Jones ride, my favorite!

So it has not been sicnce 1998 that I have been and it's about time! Why is Disneylnad so fun, even for us adults! I am excited to take my boys and see the excitement in their eyes. And Disneyland California was not even there when I went in the past, so there is a whole new area to play around in! Now after our trip, we will have new 2009 Disney pictures to post! 8 more days, here we come!

Playing Catch Up!

The holidays are always SO busy! Here is a quick wrap up of December:
Matt and the kids LOVE the snow! Every minute they could they were outside playing in all of the snow we get up here!

Christmas 2008.....

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! We had a wonderful one. Our family got a future Disneyland trip for Christmas. We will be going the third week in January. I think I'm more excited than anyone! Okay I HAVE had this trip planned for over a year. I have not been since high school and I'm excited to take my kids! We just played and stayed home Christmas Day and it was perfect and relaxing!

Well Look Whose Home......

Tyler, my brother, got home from his mission on December 30th. We all went to the airport to welcome him home. I HAVE always thought of him as a NERD (HaHa!), but I am glad he is home because really I missed him! All the Christmas festivities in my family were delayed to wait for him to get home. So we celebrated Christmas and New Years together with my family.

Say CHEESE!

Happy New Year!......

We spent the day playing in more snow. My whole family went sledding and a little bit of 4 wheeling in the snow. Then it got cold so we went back to my house for hot chocolate and cookies.

Then we went to my parents house and did the usual New Year's Eve festivities: Tons of food and games! We rang in the new year and even Liliann stayed up with us until 1:30 am.(We tried to put her to bed, but she must have too much party animal in her!) So Happy New Year everyone!

Sorry this post is so long, I've been really behind on some things, like putting the Christmas decorations away, maybe it's time.........
