To public pool, or not to public pool?

A wanted to go swimming. Well, we could have went to the Roy aquatic center.....but it was a Friday the day after a holiday and who wants to brave the crowds at a public swimming pool? Who even needs a built in swimming pool in the back yard? Obviously not the Patterson's! Okay, we are a bit RED-NECK, but we had our privacy, fun, and no crowds in our very own 8 foot pool!!! Beat that!

Big man in a little pool!!

L's a veteran when it comes to the ocean...but backyard swimming? This was her first time!
Splash-a-Splash-a!

And that's how the Patterson's like to spend their holiday's...just chalaxen'.

Friends

It was fun getting together with my friends this week. We haven't all been together for 2 years but we still can have as much fun as ever! We went to dinner and laughed the whole time about fun memories and of course because of the fantastic comedy we all have! The next day we went to Liseanne's house for Craft Corner! She cut words out of wood for us to paint and take home. Our kids were even invited (all 12 kids under 6!!!)and they all played together while we painted (chaos but fun!) Thanks Liseanne! You are very talented! (Also thanks for letting me copy pictures from your blog) To all my friends: thanks for the good times, lets not wait so long to get together again!

The end result!

Sometimes listening to telemarketers has its perks?

We went to Park City Monday and Tuesday for a quick getaway. Okay, it all stemmed from Matt GIVING IN to the freebies offered over the phone, including two nights stay at a condo in Park City, given away to listen to a timeshare spill. By the time we decided to go, luck have it, we didn't even have to go to the timeshare spill because they no longer offered it in Park City. But we still got our two nights stay! We spent a lot of our time swimming in the pool where A learned to swim across the pool by himself. He is excited to now go to a pool with a diving board and jump off and be able to swim to the edge by himself. We also shopped the outlets of course! Also on Tuesday we went to the olympic park and did a ride down quicksilver-their version of the alpine slide. It was a blast! It's fun that our boys are now old enough to do things like that. When their little, it's so hard to do anything! Way to go Matt- thanks for the good times!

*As the strapping young man makes his way atop the dangerous mountain, he swiftly lights the torch, giving way light to the grand mountain top....Okay, it's just Matt keeping us all laughing at a photo op at the olympic park!

Let's do it again!

"Let's go to the ocean this summer"

Matt finally got to go to the ocean last week. He's been wanting to go for awhile. We went to the San Diego area and spent time at four different beaches. I forgot how much I love the ocean. We spent time looking in tide pools, riding the waves and getting plenty of sand everywhere! We even saw seals on one of the beaches relaxing on a huge rock. We picked up shells and cool rocks while we watched the sunset on another beach. We also took a few days and went to Lego Land. It was very fun, perfect for A and N's age. We went to Sea World and spent an entire day there and even got to see the fireworks there at night! This was truly our first family vacation and was tons of fun!

Blogging's "the thing"

So I guess Iv'e been out of the loop not having a family blog. But now we can officially say Welcome To Our Blog! Blogging seems to me to be an open diary for everyone to read, so I was a bit turned off. But I am excited to keep in touch with our family and friends to let them know what we are up to. So here we go and welcome to the Patterson5!
